Some were planned. Most just happened. All of them stuck.

The Blenkner Belt

The Blenkner Belt is not awarded for low scores or clutch putts. It goes to the player who embodies the true spirit of the Cup — the most fun, the best energy, the stories that get retold every year.

Any player, from either team, can win it. You don't need to play well. You just need to make everyone glad you showed up.

Sword & Champagne

When the winning team is crowned, there's only one way to open the champagne — with a sword. A member of the winning takes the blade, lines up on the seam of the bottle, and sends the cork flying.

It's loud, it's dangerous, and it's perfect. One clean swing. The crowd goes wild. The 19th hole never gets quieter after that.

The 19th Hole

When the last putt drops, both teams walk off the course together and straight to the clubhouse bar. That's the 19th hole — and it's where the Blenkner Cup truly lives.

Trophy presentation. Belt ceremony. MVP award. All of it happens here, cold drink in hand, with every player from both teams present. No one leaves early. That's the rule.

The Broken Wedge Trophy

The MVP trophy is not like any other. Built into it is a loft wedge — snapped clean over Nick Whisler's knee on the 18th hole after a particularly agonizing bunker sequence. Three shots in. Still in. A moment of pure, beautiful frustration.

Mike Fitzpatrick bought the broken club on the spot. It was incorporated into the trophy. Now every MVP holds a piece of that story when they lift it. The club lives on in every winner.
